Each teacher will use the student’s $25 donation to purchase these items:

2nd Grade

We are so excited about your child coming into our 2nd grade classes.  We know you are eager to get ready for your new class, so we wanted to inform you of our supply request.  In the interest of fairness, we would like all children to have the same kind of supplies.  As teachers, we receive a discount when ordering for our classrooms.  We are requesting a $20 donation to cover the cost of these supplies for the year.

The $20 will cover organizational items such as sturdy folders, spiral notebooks, and journals.  We will also provide crayons, pencils, glue, erasers, rulers, correcting pens, highlighters, markers and various types of paper.  We will replenish these supplies as needed.

Please send cash or checks (made payable to George Kelly PTO with your second grade teacher’s name in the memo line).  We hope that you find this policy will be more helpful as we will make sure your child has the supplies they need in the classroom.  You won’t have to run out and go shopping at the last minute!!!

We know that budgets are tight, as are our own classroom budgets.  Therefore, we truly appreciate all donations.  In addition to the $20 donation, we can use any of the below items throughout the year.

Additional $5 donation to help cover the cost of science supplies
Bandaids, Bandaids, and more Bandaids

3rd Grade

For the 2019-2020 school year, we are asking all parents for a $20.00 cash donation, which will cover basic supplies.  Do not buy back to school items.  They will be bought for you.  ☺
On the first day of school, we recommend that students bring:

  • Non-rolling backpack
  • Lunch bag, or lunch money (paid before school in the office or online) if they are buying.

*Students will be using agendas daily, as this will be part of the daily communication from school to home. George Kelly agendas will be on sale at the beginning of the year.  The cost is expected to be $10.00.

4th Grade

The Fourth Grade teachers want to make Back to School Shopping as easy as possible – so we are willing to shop for you!  We are a requesting $25 donation to cover the normal supplies needed in our intermediate classrooms – binder, paper, pencils, pens, highlighters, folders, notebooks, dry erase markers, crayons, index cards, erasers, markers, whiteboard, pencil box, colored pencils, pencil sharpener, ruler, scissors, glue bottles, and glue sticks.

*Each student will be provided supplies that should last them throughout the year.  If a student goes through their allotted amount of supplies before the end of the year, he or she will need to bring a replacement.

*Students will still need to purchase an agenda as this will be part of the daily communication from school to home.

*Additional donations of Kleenex and copy paper would be appreciated.

*It is highly recommended that your child practice math facts 2-12 over the summer.

*If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom or chaperoning, you must be fingerprinted and cleared through the district. Please start this process as soon as possible because it can take weeks to be cleared.

A few helpful notes:

Please mark all items with child’s name.  This saves us time in class and mitigates things getting lost at school.

While not required, I do recommend purchasing a music stand for use in practice at home.
