*Kleenex, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, dry erase markers, and copy paper run out quickly, so any extras of these items would be appreciated.
*It is highly recommended that your child practice math facts 2-12 over the summer. At the beginning of the year, students will be using multiplication and will need to be fluent in this third-grade standard to be prepared for fourth grade math.
Thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jimenez, Mrs. Ryan, and Ms. Wakefield
5th Grade
5th Grade Supply List
In order to make sure 5th grade students are starting off the year successfully, the 5th grade teachers have put together a list of supplies students will need.
*Paper: need two reams of copy paper and two packs of wide ruled binder paper (for teacher use and distribution)
*Pencils: need at least 12-24 pack of Dixon Ticonderoga pencils (this brand is more reliable and doesn’t break as easily. It sharpens better too) [for teacher distribution]
*highlighters: at least four different colors (might need additional to get through the school year)
*folders: three (red, blue, and green) plastic folders, two-pockets with brads/fasteners.
*notebooks: students will need 4 wide ruled composition notebooks (9.75 x 7.5 in). Must have a green, red, blue, and purple. If purple is unavailable, please get a black notebook.
*dry erase markers (students will need at least 10-15 to make it through the school year)
*crayons (16-24 count and a container in case the cardboard box breaks)
*index cards (for teacher use)
*erasers (something to enable students to fix mistakes made with pencils)
*markers (crayola/washable markers, please no alcohol-based pens that will bleed through the paper)
*sticky notes (for teacher use)
*whiteboard
*whiteboard eraser (separate from the pen- the ones on the pen take too long to erase)
*pencil box/ pouch (one container small enough to fit inside the desk)
*colored pencils (must have a personal pencil sharpener as the class sharpener doesn’t work with the soft lead of colored pencis
*pencil sharper (only if it has a receptacle or if you want your child to have colored pencils)
*ruler (nothing bendy or that will break easily)
*scissors (child friendly scissors)
*glue sticks (will need at least 10 to get through the year)
*baby wipes
*hand sanitizer
*facial tissue
*sheet protectors: small pack (5-10)
[teacher distribution]
*Each student will be provided supplies that should last him or her throughout the year.
PARENTS ARE ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPLYING THEIR CHILD WITH PENCILS THAT CAN BE USED THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR.
*Additional donations of Kleenex and copy paper would be appreciated but are not required.
